Obituary of Thomas Stephen FINKLEA

Thomas (Tom) Stephen Finklea, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on December 27, 2018. He was born on January 8, 1954 in Great Falls, MT. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Finklea, mother Joan Finklea and brother Jim Finklea. He was a man who could always make you feel welcome, a man full of understanding and compassion. He was a truly kind, genuine and charismatic man. He could easily light up a room with a smile or one of his infamous jokes. His passion for music was infinite. He was a celebrated Jazz Pianist in the Phoenix area. Not only did he find great joy in playing, he found his greatest joy in teaching others. He was a patient man who could find greatness in anyone. He had a great love for the outdoors, especially fishing. His love for the outdoors was shared with his love fast cars and fast boats. He always enjoyed the Formula 1 races. He was a beloved father and grandfather. His grandchildren brought him profound happiness. His daughters and all who loved him will miss him dearly. He is survived by his sisters; Susan Lucking and Leigh Hartman; daughters Tanya Korey and Tiphany Finklea; and grandchildren Ava Arteaga, Serenity Villanueva, Elliana Fate and Ryder Korey. His life will forever be cherished.

Tom & I go way back, playing in Bands since grade school. Great guy, exceptional pianist. His talent will be missed here in the Valley.
