Mark Culbertson passed away of natural causes on June 20th in his Mesa home. He is survived by his older brother, Henry. Marks wife, Gem, passed away last year from cancer.
I started at Camelback High as a junior. It was difficult to make friends, entering a school where everybody knew each other already. Mark was one of the first people I met. He befriended me quickly. He was a warm, intelligent kind person with a great sense of humor. I'll always appreciate him taking me "under his wing" so to speak. I believe that he was hurting after the passing of his beloved wife. I hope they are both in a better place now.

I knew Mark as a very nice guy. Sorry to see so many CHS kids passing. Getting old sucks. Rest in Peace
