Robert Edward "Bob" Fry
1953 - 2018
On November 24th 2018, at 5:30 p.m., Robert Edward "Bob" Fry took his last breath in the company of his children. He was 65 years old. Born in Fremont, Michigan on September 6, 1953, Bob greatly enjoyed his adventures on the family farm as a child. Bob and his family moved to the Valley in 1968. Bob loved the desert and stayed in Arizona for the remainder of his life, aside from the occasional trip to Rocky Point. Bob attended Camelback High School and became a licensed pilot before he graduated. He set a soaring record as a junior glider that stands to this day. Bob worked many years as a professional pilot, a Respiratory Therapist, and finally as a Licensed Addictions Counselor on the Gila River Indian Reservation. Bob loved action films and westerns. He went on epic hikes in the Superstitions. He found his greatest solace on the Mogollon Rim. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Phillip E. Fry. He is survived by his mother, Mary Watson, and his children, Erin and Nick. He will be greatly missed by his three grandchildren and beloved dog, Jake. If there is a shortcut to heaven, Bob found it without a doubt. Bob Fry will be honored this coming Saturday in a private service near Woods Canyon Lake.
