Event Details

Registration is now open online (www.camelback72.org) to attend the Camelback High School Class of 1972 50-year Reunion!  The reunion will be held the weekend of November 4 and 5, 2022 at the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort, 10438 We-Ko-Pa Way, Fort McDowell, AZ  85264.  Throughout the reunion weekend there will be various activities and resort facilities available for your enjoyment, details of which will be announced in the weeks and months to come.  In the meantime, here are a couple of highlights:  On Friday, November 4, if you have registered and paid for attending the reunion, upon arrival at the resort you will receive an information packet, as well as a wristband which will admit you to various reunion events.  For example, that wristband is your admission to the Pharaohs’ Hospitality Suite with refreshments available throughout the reunion weekend.  That Friday afternoon the hospitality suite will be the location of an informal “meet and greet” where you can relax and visit with classmates.  A no-host cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres begins on Saturday, November 5, at 5:00 p.m.  Make sure you bring your wristband because immediately following that reception will be a 3-Course Dinner including your choice of a steak, chicken, or vegetarian entree.  Over the course of the evening there will be music, dancing, a brief program and, of course, more reconnecting and catching up with classmates.  Later in the evening, those who still have the energy to do so can return to the Pharaohs’ suite for more fun, laughs and reminiscing until the wee hours.  As mentioned above, registration for our 50th Reunion is now open.  We encourage classmates to register and pay by June 15, which is the deadline to be eligible for the “early bird” rate!

An important explanation is in order:  If some classmates are put off by the ticket price thinking that $130 is too much to pay for “just a dinner”, please remember that the registration fee is inclusive of all planned events and activities associated with this reunion.  The ticket price covers so much more than the price of a meal, such as the reunion’s exclusive use of the Reception & Dinner venue itself as well the use of other resort facilities, leasing of incidental equipment, decorations, supplies, printing, and outside services.  In addition to the food and beverage costs, we are required to pay, a 23% service charge and a 9% sales tax.  Then there are costs involved with maintaining the class website and communication, and the list goes on.  Your reunion committee (volunteers all) have spent many, many hours working hard to find the best deals, to get the most bang for your reunion buck, and to make the reunion as affordable as possible.  We believe we have been successful in these efforts; and by the way, the “early bird” reduced rate is only $10 more than the price of admission to our last reunion ten years ago.  Even so, there is still a substantial expense involved for this 50th Reunion.  The committee needs your help---in the form of you registering and paying your admission---to make this reunion a huge success!

Finally, our reunions inevitably generate some unplanned expenses that exceed what is collected in admission fees from classmates.  For this reason, the reunion committee asks that you please consider making an additional contribution which the committee would use for things such as unexpected expenses of the reunion, the cost of a photographer for the Saturday evening event, maintaining the class website in the future, etc.
